To ensure that each film is studied and rated individually, RFIFF has instituted a system in which entries do not compete against each other but are recognized for their own merits.

They compete against themselves.

Each entry is judged on merits and scored on an inherent value system.

When it is your turn to be evaluated, the judge's focus is on your film, not on all the other films in cue. This ensures that they will not have comparisons going on in their minds when they should be focusing entirely on you.

Judges score entries on a performance scale and winning entries are recognized and awarded not only for Best of Festival and Best of Show but also for two Awards of Excellence levels, two Awards of Merit levels, a Kudos Endeavor Award, or no award.

Best of Festival and Best of Show honors are granted to the top-scoring entries for each season; Awards of Excellence are granted to entries with exceptional artistic and technical achievements; and Notable achievements are recognized at the Merit and 'Kudos' award levels.

To ensure that each film is assessed on its own merits, the RFIFF has established a system whereby entries do not compete against one another but are acknowledged for their individual qualities. In essence, each entry competes against itself, undergoing evaluation based on specific criteria and scoring according to an intrinsic value system.

During the evaluation process, judges concentrate exclusively on the film under review, allowing them to remain free from comparative thoughts regarding other submissions. This practice facilitates an undivided focus on each film's unique attributes.

Entries are scored on a performance scale, with winning submissions distinguished through several accolades, including Best of Festival, Best of Show, two levels of Awards of Excellence, two levels of Awards of Merit, and the Kudos Endeavor Award, or no award.

Best of Festival and Best of Show are conferred upon the top-scoring entries for each season. Awards of Excellence are designated for entries demonstrating exceptional artistic and technical achievements. At the same time, noteworthy accomplishments are recognized at the Merit and Kudos levels.
